Needs a leader to step in and run it or else it clearly has died.

I'm up for game sessions, but I'm too busy with TOR to run the BF3 group.

I havent played in a while myself but would love to see more matches happen. But as it is now no this really inst a group anymore.

Is there a night or 2 that anyone can commit to doing BF3 matches? Can anyone say Yes Friday night I will be on bf3 and nothing else? Doesnt have to be friday that was just an example. Frankly TOR killed this group over the holiday I know several of us that were on playing bf3 started putting that time into TOR.

My schedule is nowhere near regular enough to say "I can get on xxxday nights." I said from the beginning I wouldn't have time to run it, and that is why I haven't. The most active player, Kratos, has no interest in leading the group, so that hurts. Honestly, to me it almost seems like either Kratos leads it or it is going to fall by the wayside because the rest of us don't have time for one reason or another.

I do that about 3-4 times a week and nobody ever wants to play. Granted this could be because everybody is already in a game like TOR or MC or what have you, but it's still discouraging. I've talked to Ciel already I want to take on some more responsibility again with the group now that my schedule is becoming more free (FINALLY!). Probably not a conversation to have in the BF3 forum though.

Well here's what we need:

1. A leader who -
a. Participates on the forums and communicates.
b. Can commit to some sort of schedule, or at least be around often enough that people can expect to know when there will be some BF3 going on.
c. Is not afraid to recruit, will put up advertisements, generate some content for propaganda, and get the group working as a team instead of just riding in vehicles because they feel like it when we really need more medics on the ground holding down a point, or more engineers taking out tanks and choppers. Vehicles do not win battles, they just make them easier. Infantry still makes or breaks a match (unless the other team sucks and is unable to destroy the vehicles raping them.)
d. Can setup and run a server once we have enough people to fill up 2 or more squads. We could use this server to get a full server, and then spam recruit the people playing on the server, and maybe even plan community events.

The last time Kratos checked the forums (or at least logged in) according to the Admin CP was sometime in November. So as far as he's concerned, nobody has any interest. Everytime I bring up forums he gets defensive and thinks I have no right to expect him to check a forum. It really pisses him off. So Sora, if you're truly up to the task then go for it. But I'm leading SWTOR, and that being an MMO I've learned that when you run an mmo you can't multi-lead. I can only participate with you. And probably not every game session. You'll need to round up whatever members here you can, and then look outside of Nobility for some new recruits to pull in. I would also suggest not looking at Balu n friends. They've proven completely unreliable in anything remotely related to clanning since Joint Ops ceased to be of interest.

I will consider it then. I definitely don't have the funds for a server though.

I think a server is long term goal for this group and may not be realistic. but only by having a server could we potentially recruit players into the group from outside of nobility. Aside from just word of mouth to our friends. The real problem its not like it used to be. People are not looking for game clans to join. Our best bet is to simply have fun as a group with this game. Get enough of us on for 1 or more squads and we run though and Own the map. Its always pretty apparent the guys that work together on a map. There are some players that do this. Stick wiht the squad etc without voice chat. But the overwhelming majority of players are kids that are more concerned about their Kill score then if the team wins the match.

My problem is just that there's FAR too many great games that I'm either finding out about, or that have just come out.

I keep jumping form one to the other (Just finished off Fable 3 good guy playthrough may do the evil one now).

Add to this that I've somehow gotten addicted to SC2 replays (a game I don't even own). If I didn't suck at RTS's so badly I'd definitely pick it up.

It's hard for me to stick to one game. Plus the ADHD doesn't help. ;)

ADHD aside, generally when you join a clan it's because you're ready to commit to a game or two with that group long term. Otherwise you're just causing the clan headaches. That's what's caused some people to get pissed off at me in particular because I'm here with a clanning mindset, and Minecraft is so casual a game that most of those recruits find that mindset flawed and nearly draconian. Or at least that's how it seems to me. lol But I don't really care what those people think, cause they joined a clan without understanding what that implies. :p

But no offense Krii, some of us really want to at least start performing as a team in this game. So by all means participate, but if you have no intention to help then your participating in this revival discussion could be misleading.

Advertisements and content are largely unimportant for recruiting in a FPS. What is more important to most people is that the group is fun to play with and doesn't suck. The only kind of iffy thing is trying to recruit while on other servers. That just requires a bit of subterfuge but can be done reasonably well, you just can't do it in public. All things considered, if players see our clan generally doing well, they will want to join and it won't be hard to recruit them. If we can get roughly 8 regular players, then and only then should a server come into the picture. A server is useless if we don't have the people to populate it, so we need at least enough people as friends that play with us (not necessarily clan members) to start the server up and bring some traffic. After that it is all cake. You just put recruiting in the server title, haha.

That's why I said 2 full squads or more. That is 8+ regular players.

Sorry, I just wanted to inform you as to why I haven't been playing BF3 much (well not at all recently).

I still like chatting with you guys enough to keep up on the forums and know what's going on.
