View Full Version : Recent Lack of Server Population

In case you're wondering why the server has been declining in activity, it's because EA screwed up again. A lot of servers are displaying themselves as offline on the server list and favorites list when they are really online. Our server is part of the unlucky bunch that is suffering from this glitch. They're supposedly working on fixing this ASAP, but for now we'll just have to deal with low populations during practice nights.
Message from our server provider:
"The BC2 master server is currently having some connectivity issues. This is forcing some servers to restart and/or not appear on the master or favorites list. We have alerted DICE/EA about the issue. We will give you another update when one becomes available."
The world will end when EA has no accidents. The only company seemingly unaffected by EA's problems is Bioware, and they have yet to release an online game since allowing EA to publish their work.

Wrong. Since BioWare teamed up with EA, their quality of released content has declined as well. Only thing is that since it's not online, you don't notice, but if you compare it to the sheer scale of other games (NWN, anyone?) their new games seem like a joke (good, but not up to their standard).
I felt like Mass Effect 2 was their best game yet. Better than KOTOR.

so you finally got to the bottom of that eh Jon, I remember talking to you the other night about that issue since I couldn't see the server up and had to join through other people. Its good to know that our server actually isnt just down on and off all the time, hopefully its fixed soon.

Then you're into shooters more-so than RPG's. Mass Effect 2 is their only recent game which doesn't play out as an RPG should. Same for the Mass Effect decisions: they promised huge impact. All you got were e-mails. Pathetic on their part. You really need to try out their old stuff, KOTOR was a great game, but not on NWN's scale.

I actually recently got Jase to play NWN. We play for a couple hours about 2-3 nights a week.

Baldurs gate and Baldurs gate 2 are still my favorite RPGs from bioware, even though the THACO system is retarded. the games were still massive in terms of story and innovation at the time, and has my favorite story out of all the north american RPGS

Get him to play good campaign modules and DND action. That's the best part of the game, for sure, and I definitively agree with Kratos about the greatness in BG.

Well right now we're just going through the original NWN campaign, but if you know any awesome modules that we should play then we'll definitely check those out.

What type of backstories are you into? Action/Adventure? Thrillers? Epic stories? I'll find something up your alley in my collection, and if you let me know, I'll even hop in and play with you guys.
